The business of life whether in job or personal relationships involves an exchange of value, a fair trade so to speak of time or goods for money or for helping others - love. We can gain health and happiness from helping others and often may learn more about a subject when we teach others about it.
Economics is the study of the exchange of goods and services in the business marketplace. Home economics focuses on the individual household and forms of governmental control of the marketplace looks at regulation of free trade or planned production of goods and services. Some balance of value exchange is a cultural expectation around the world - fairness of exchange. However there can be some basic differences in cultural preference for working towards the collective good - the benefit of the group - or the preference for working towards individual good - the benefit of the individual business or person.
